DIXON

The Dixon family are inter-woven with the COATES, in the sense that two of the nine daughters of Michael COATES and Margaret WELFOOT married two Dixon brothers. This is illustrated in the tree below where both familes can be seen on both sides of the tree. David is descended from Elizabeth COATES, a daughter of Michael COATES and Margaret WELFOOT, and it is Elizabeth’s two sisters Sarah and Hannah who married into the DIXON family, to William and John respectively.
